Meet the Team

Since graduating from Guy’s Dental Hospital in 2000, Dr Aziz has continued to develop his portfolio with a specialist interest in Restorative Dentistry and Implant Therapy. He graduated with a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, London (2009). It was here that his interest in the provision of high-quality dentistry for his patients was established and he has since built upon his restorative and surgical experience with his constant desire to seek high quality implant-based education. He has also developed his Oral Surgery skills by attending a residency course in Oral Surgery at the Sheffield dental hospital and then working as an Oral Surgery Clinical Assistant at the Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery department at the Grantham Dental Hospital, Nottinghamshire. Dr Aziz began his Implant training through the World Leading ITI Implant Training pathway attending Implant Restorative and Surgical courses followed by mentoring with ITI Fellows. This provided him an outstanding foundation in all aspects of implantology, including treatment planning, surgical and restorative procedures, tissue regeneration, bone grafting, and tissue management. The thorough background in restorative and Implant therapy will provide patients the confidence in receiving optimum dental care and a successful outcome.

Mr Aziz has been the principal at Bridgford Dental Practice since 2013 and continues to develop the practice with new technologies and highly skilled staff to ensure high quality dentistry is provided to all the patients.

Michael qualified as a dental surgeon (BDS) from Newcastle University in 2011, and later passed the Member of Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) examinations from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013. He has also completed a postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in Clinical Implant Dentistry from Newcastle University in 2016.

Mike has worked in a variety of settings including spending a year in Australia, community dental services and private dentistry. He has completed Invisalign training and is an accredited Invisalign provider.

Mike has provided dental implant treatments since 2016 and regularly attends implantology courses and conferences both in the UK and abroad.

In addition to clinical work, Mike is an Educational Supervisor and works at Kings Mill hospital in Mansfield where he teaches restorative dentistry to Postgraduate students.

Mike is a friendly and sociable person with excellent communication skills. In his free time, he plays golf, is a keen runner and spends time with his young family.

Alice joined Bridgford Dental Practice in September 2022 as our Foundation Dentist after achieving a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), pass with Honours. She was also winner of three undergraduate awards and an undergraduate scholarship for excellent performance.

Alice loves helping to provide a positive experience for patients, whilst working to improve their dental health. Particularly focussing on attention to detail to ensure high quality treatment.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys skydiving; she is a qualified skydiving coach and participates in national skydiving competitions. Alice is up for anything active and adventurous!

Natalia joined Bridgford Dental Practice in April 2019 after qualifying in Zobarsta Riga Stradins University in 2008.

Natalia has a special interest in implantology and has been awarded a PG Diploma in Implantology from Cambridge. She also holds a PG Diploma in Restorative Dentistry and a PG Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedic from London dental institute.

Natalia also offers short-term orthodontic treatment; Invisalign and Clear Correct (clear aligner teeth straightening) and Quick Straight Teeth (fixed braces)

She is also our facial aesthetics specialist in addition to all aspects of restorative dentistry.

In her spare time, Natalia loves socialising and travelling around the world with her family.

Maria joined the practice in February 2023 as our newest clinician. Since graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2012, Maria has devoted a lot of time towards numerous post graduate courses and has a special interest in root canal treatments after completing her Masters in Endodontology in 2015.

Maria also enjoys providing a range of treatments including fillings, composite bonding, tooth whitening and crown/veneer provision. Maria strives to provide a high-quality standard of care in all areas she provides treatment and believes that a patient centred approach is fundamental in working together towards achieving desired treatment outcomes. She enjoys treating both children and adult patients and loves working in a family orientated dental practice.

Outside of work maria has a young son and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Peter qualified at the University of Leeds in 2001 and joined Bridgford Dental Practice in July 2020. Peter has a special interest in root canal treatment and has completed a postgraduate diploma in this subject. This enables him to complete complex cases of root canal therapy and hence provide an enhanced level of care to our patients. Peter has additionally received training enabling him to treat patients whose dentists are unable to diagnose the source of their pain. Peter also provides dental implants and undertakes complex oral surgery procedures. Peter is a member of the British Endodontic Society, the American Association of Endodontists, the International team for Implantology and the Facility of General Dental Practitioners. He spends the majority of his free time taking his children to football training, walking and gardening.

Laura joined Bridgford Dental Practice in 2017 after qualifying from Sheffield University as a Dental Hygienist & Therapist. Laura enjoys her role helping patients improve and maintain their oral health. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, she has 2 young sons and a cat. They enjoy baking, crafts and walks together.

Nicholas joined the practice as our Clinical Denture Technician in September 2022 and has been in the dental industry for over 10 years focusing his practice to removable and fixed prosthetics.

Having attained the necessary skills and knowledge Nick moved to a specialised prosthetics laboratory where he learned further skills in the production of complex cases ranging from oncology cases to fixed removable prosthetics. Nick has a broad range of skills which allows him to find the best possible outcome for patients. This combined with Nick’s passion to give the patient the best possible experience and outcome gives patients both the confidence in him and the predictability of the final result.

Nick constantly seeks to improve his knowledge with post graduate education and adapt what he has learned to each new patient he treats.

Nick is an outgoing family man with a broad range of hobbies and interests ranging from football and cricket to boxing, travelling and culture (and even a good binge worthy TV series).

Pauline has been a part of Bridgford Dental Practice since June 2001! She joined the practice as a qualified dental nurse, before becoming the face of reception. She most recently has taken a course in Practice Management. Pauline is a highly valued member of the team not only to staff but to patients too. Pauline’s favourite part of working at Bridgford Dental Practice is interacting and building relationships with patients. In her spare time Pauline enjoys reading, knitting and travelling.

Shaista joined the practice in 2016 as a receptionist. Over the years, Shaista has become a friendly face on reception, and enjoys engaging in conversations with all our patients. She is always happy to help! In her spare time, Shaista enjoys going for walks and spending time with her family.

Leeann started at Bridgford Dental Practice in July 2013 as a trainee dental nurse. She has since qualified in 2015. Leeann enjoys building professional rapports with patients and working with the whole team. Leeann has a young family who like to get away on UK trips and days out whenever they can!

Renata joined Bridgford Dental Practice in February 2015. She became a qualified dental nurse in June 2015, and since has completed post qualifications in Radiography and Impression taking. Renata mainly works alongside Dr Aziz assisting in the placing of dental implants and FastBraces. She is also lead infection control nurse. In her spare time, Renata works with a charity to help rescue dogs.

Neive started at Bridgford Dental Practice in September 2017 as a trainee dental nurse. She is now a qualified dental nurse and is an experienced and valuable member of the nursing team. Neive currently works alongside our Foundation Dentist as well as mentoring our trainee nurses.  In her spare time she enjoys camping, cooking and taking her dog for walks.

Nicole started Bridgford Dental Practice in September 2020 as a trainee dental nurse and has recently qualified! Nicole currently works alongside our Foundation Dentist and helps Pauline with admin tasks. Nicole enjoys all aspects of dental nursing and caring for our patients. She is looking into furthering her dental career by undertaking a post qualification in the near future. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys going on adventures with her dog Benji and trying new restaurants!

Salma joined Bridgford Dental Practice in October 2020 and has been a qualified dental nurse for 15 years! Salma enjoys all aspects of nursing especially assisting with implants. Salma ensures the practice runs efficiently and brings a lot of experience with her to Bridgford Dental Practice. In Salma’s spare time, she enjoys experimenting with cooking and making new dishes for her and her husband to try, reading new books and travelling the world.

Heena started in November 2022 and is currently studying to become a dental nurse. Heena often works alongside the hygienist and enjoys meeting new patients. Outside of work Heena likes to try different restaurants and go boating at Highfields!

Mia joined the team in July 2023 and is currently studying to become a qualified dental nurse. She enjoys seeing the improvements Cosmetic Dentistry can make to patient’s smiles, and the confidence this often brings to patients. In her spare time, Mia enjoys driving and exploring new places.

Katie joined the practice in February 2023 and is currently studying to become a qualified dental nurse. Katies favourite thing about her role is supporting patients on their journey to a happy smile. In her spare time, Katie enjoys walking in the Peak District and exploring the world with her husband and their dog Milo!

Zakiya is the newest member of our team who joined us in May 2023. Zakiya is a trainee dental nurse who has made a great start at the practice, and we have been very impressed with the development of her knowledge and skills. Outside of work, Zakiya is often found at the gym or stables looking after a Welsh D.
